Feb Village Rep meeting
Hi all, Transitioning with Rene Havekes, I had the opportunity to attend my first Village Rep meeting (along with an orientation). Here are several take-aways from the discussion.
Knife Medics: For those of you not familiar, the Woodshop's Knife Medics - sharpen a diverse set of items, including knifes, scissors, garden tools. Bob Lauffer is a knife medic and sends out notes on their schedule which is typically twice per month and always on a Monday.
Village Rep Chair report - advised on feedback from the Common Grounds committee - two primary issues seen by the Common Grounds committee are
- 1) trees overhanging roads - the trees must be 15' high to accommodate rescue vehicle traffic and
- 2) mailbox post repair/maintenance.
As a village rep, I'll let you know if there are any issues to be addressed. There was discussion that a form may be used to help communicate these "issues"....more to follow.
New Board of Directors Chair report - some points of focus:
- 1) Lodge pool permitting is underway and progressing
- 2) Fiber optics for internet vs. existing cable system
- 3) Country club food and beverage contract
General Mgr report - most items are already included in the Friday Flash - but for your reference;
- 1) Electrical boring is underway to support the street lights within the community (main roads)
- 2) Hernando County is cleaning manholes and will be for the next 30 days or so.
- Upcoming projects - Road paving in Greenbriar, lodge main room lights to be updated, signage for the Lodge+
New Business - the Fitness Trail (per Florida regulations) does not permit bicycles or e-bikes.
I've used the emails presented in the village communications from Bob/Vee Lauffer. If you see any updates required, let me know!
Should you have any questions, please let me know.
